SINGAPORE, 21 APRIL –Bold creativity and unexpected encounters: mystery stirs and ignites the imagination in the final chapter of Cartier’s Nature Sauvage High Jewelry collection.

Nature Sauvage Exhibition at Former Command House

This April, Cartier unveils the third and final chapter of Nature Sauvage in Singapore, bringing to life its fauna through precious jewels, where animals emerge from naturalistic landscapes and imaginary realms with a powerful vitality.

Following its premiere in Vienna and a second chapter in Shanghai, the third chapter of Nature Sauvage will be presented at the Former Command House on 21 April 2025. Steeped in heritage, the historic gem offers a fitting stage, as the Maison marks 30 years of enduring presence in the city.

Main Entrance

Across six curated universes, each one inspired by a facet of Singapore’s unique Peranakan culture, the exhibition invites esteemed guests into a poetic encounter between nature, culture and savoir-faire.

At the heart of the activation is an exclusive workshop ‘Art of Stringing’, led by the Maison’s Director of Transmission, History and Patrimony, Michel Aliaga, alongside local artisans. Aimed at exploring the shared values of cultural diversity, heritage preservation, and craftsmanship, the dialogue brings creativity and technique to life, drawing parallels between the intricate artistry of Peranakan beadwork and Cartier’s high jewelry-making savoir-faire.

Les Moments Cartier

The creative exchange culminates in a creation that honors heritage, craftsmanship and cultural expression: the Alaxoa necklace—an exceptional creation adorned with over 400 emeralds and brought to life through over 2,600 hours of meticulous work.

Born from the Maison’s creative freedom, savoir-faire and exceptional craftsmanship, the presentation of Cartier’s Nature Sauvage high jewelry celebrates the wild, including the Maison’s emblematic panther. From icy terrains to jungle canopies, and even architectural abstractions, animals reveal and conceal themselves in settings that blur boundaries between figure and form—mysterious, majestic, and unmistakably Cartier.

IMAGINARY UNIVERSES THAT BRING TO LIFE THE INFINITE WONDERS OF CARTIER’S NATURE SAUVAGE

Thrill with the Wind

A Poetic Prologue to the World of Nature Sauvage

The journey through Nature Sauvage begins with a sensory embrace—where coastal winds meet sculptural poetry. Inspired by the island breeze sweeping through Singapore’s shorelines, this opening room captures the raw, flowing movement of sand across curved walls, rendered in textures that celebrate nature’s perfect imperfections. Rising from this landscape are towering Super Flowers—magnificent forms hand-woven in rattan, echoing both the organic craft of the region and the iconic symbols of Singapore’s cityscape.

Treasures of Land

A Geometry of Nature and Reimagined Landscapes

In this second passage, Nature Sauvage finds its rhythm in the language of the land. Drawing from Singapore’s architectural vernacular, the room reimagines angular lines and geometric silhouettes, as Cartier’s High Jewelry codes blend harmoniously with the island’s iconic landscape. A gentle tension plays out across the space: sculpted rattan pebbles contrast with soft organic curves, while the orchid—Singapore’s cherished national bloom—rests gracefully within this crafted terrain. It is a refined interplay of nature and structure, where the urban jungle becomes a canvas for beauty.

Shapes of Water

The Final Exploration through Water

The passage of Nature Sauvage ends with a journey of water, signifying the very essence that embraces Singapore with its natural ebbs and flow. An artistic interpretation and installation around characteristics of water is seen within this space through the play of different materials with subtle movements. Through this movement comes an abundance of sparkles as they catch the light, reflecting the brilliance of Cartier’s diamonds.

Tradition

When Cultural Tradition meets Cartier Tradition

Cartier Tradition celebrates the timeless appeal of the Maison’s cherished designs over the years and offers vintage pieces for sale to avid collectors. Crafted in the Maison’s workshops throughout its long history, these precious creations are authenticated, documented and restored to preserve their craftsmanship. The craft of embroidery and beading depicts the rich history of the textile industry in Singapore and is showcased in the form of the orchid—Singapore’s national flower, alongside Cartier’s creations.

Fine Watchmaking

A Marriage of Time, Craft and Symbolism

In this intimate cove, Cartier unveils the poetic codes of its fine watchmaking universe. The rounded architecture of the room evokes the perpetual motion of time, while arches adorned with straw marquetry in a radiant sunray motif pay tribute to the sunray dial—an emblem of the Maison’s horological artistry. At the heart of the space, intricately woven bamboo pillars rise in quiet strength, reflecting the cultural symbolism of resilience and grace. These elements come together to honor Cartier’s métiers d’art, offering a timeless encounter between design, heritage, and technical wonder.

Special Order

A Dialogue Between Culture and Imagination

The Special Order room pays tribute to culture and individuality, where personal expression and exceptional stones meet. Inspired by the decorative charm of traditional Singaporean homes, the space echoes the colorful ceramic tiles once found in colonial residences and Peranakan shophouses, adorned with flora and fauna to reflect the rich identity and character. Here, guests are invited into a world of co-creation, where Cartier’s fauna comes to life within the very walls that are subtly woven into the motif of these heritage tiles—blurring the lines between past and present, tradition and transformation.

Private Viewing Rooms

The Maison transforms the space to feature ten exclusive Private Viewing Salons, each designed around three distinct themes in collaboration with local artisans, to offer a truly immersive experience to guests. These salons provide a unique opportunity to explore one-of-a-kind creations in a creative space that celebrates the artistry and savoir-faire of Cartier.

Rooma made a name for itself for its handmade and handcrafted rattan and wood furnishings in various finishes, textures and forms crafted by skilled craftsmen from Indonesia that weave the local culture and skill. Its approach to their design and creations is akin to Maison’s: creations that withstand the test of time.

SWEE LIN AND SWEE MAY FROM MANEKNYA

Cartier commissioned sisters Swee Lin and Swee May from Maneknya to create a bespoke batik print that playfully conceals the Cartier Fauna can be seen in cushion covers and silk square wall art in three colourways, specifically for the final chapter of Nature Sauvage.

A part of Singapore’s rich heritage in the textile industry, batik prints take inspiration from nature, mythology, cultural traditions, flora and fauna that are found abundantly in Singapore, as well as geometric motifs that are similar to the Maison’s codes.
