Mid-April, during the peak of global self-isolation due to the Covid-19 outbreak, VALENTINO introduced #ChezMaisonValentino on Instagram. The new series contains performances, streaming live from Instagram every week and featuring notable names in art and entertainment.
#ChezMaisonValentino started with Grammy winner Alicia Keys who performed her hit song within a 15 minutes Instagram live session. Such a great start for the series, as the singer encouraged everyone to stay strong during the trying time and she hoped her music could at least whisper a sense of comfort. Because obviously, after almost two months of staying at home, some people find it harder to focus, as the end of the outbreak is still blur. And artistic performances, as it always should, provide the holistic ease that everyone is searching for during this period of time.
To quote Valentino’s creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, music, by definition, knows no boundaries, no limits, no fears. Music can give us what we need, anytime, anywhere. Music can connect us through emotions wherever we are. And when everyone is limited to their home, social media has been the go-to platform to communicate any kind of messages – especially the positive ones – no matter where you live, effortlessly. In other words, these performances shall give us hope and reasons to stay home, and something to look forward to, every week.
Following Alicia Keys’s performances, #ChezMaisonValentino brought the world-renowned poet Rupi Kaur and Italian singer Elisa Toffoli. Stay tuned on Valentino’s Instagram to find out who will be performing every week.
