Jakarta, 19 October 2016 – A night of class and heritage, Time International recently celebrated the legendary collaboration between two giants in watchmaking and luxury leather goods by presenting the Hublot Classic Fusion Berluti at Berluti’s Plaza Indonesia boutique. At the event, guests and media friends witnessed the distinct coming together of Berluti’s emblematic Venezia leather and its great patina, with Hublot’s innovation in watchmaking.

The breathtaking Hublot Classic Fusion Berluti All Black in ceramic and Hublot Classic Fusion Berluti Scritto in rose gold were presented at the event. The fusion of expertise sets these limited edition pieces apart with their bold, distinctive personalities. Both Hublot and Berluti worked as modern day alchemists to breathe character and soul into these watches. In celebration of the Parisian shoemaker’s 120th birthday in 2015, the Classic Fusion model was adorned with an array of sophisticated straps and dials. The artful combination of the watch, and the shoes exemplify elegance – defining the spirit of the classic gentleman.

At the event, guests discovered the highest quality of craftsmanship from both Hublot and Berluti while enjoying canapés, cocktails, and champagne. Ryan Au from Berluti Hong Kong, and Petrus Teddy from Berluti Indonesia,showcased Berluti’s expertise in mastering Patina. They demonstrated the patient is massaging of the leather with essential oils, as Berluti’s Venezia leather absorbs natural pigments and various waxes.

It is this great and naturally supple leather with a patina that Hublot used to dress its dials. Hublot and Berluti together make a truly unique collaboration: the master watchmaker and the luxury leather house, a combination that defines true excellence and the distinctive style of the distinguished male.

HUBLOT CLASSIC FUSION BERLUTI ALL BLACK

In its eminent monochrome, jet-black style, this new collector’s edition has a Nero Grigio Venezia handmade strap inspired by the art of scarification, marked with the signature “Gaspard” incision of the Berluti House. The 45 mm black ceramic case contains a HUB1100 mechanical self-winding movement with a Nero Grigio leather dial signed by Berluti. This model has been issued sparsely, in a limited edition of 500.

HUBLOT CLASSIC FUSION BERLUTI SCRITTO

The straps of the 250 model limited edition Hublot Classic Fusion Berluti Scritto are expertly carved from Venezia Scritto calf leather with writing inspired by 18th-century calligraphy. The bold artist, Olga Berluti, was enthused to present a homage to this calligraphy engraved in leather. The tobacco bis hued leather that also gilds the dial,strikes the perfect poise with the warm nuances of Hublot’s King Gold.

RITUAL

The Classic Fusion straps have been created via the same dedicated procedure as Berluti shoe leather: from patterning, shaping, cutting and assembling the pieces of leather, to the mounting of the strap and lacquering. Each strap is enviably exclusive. The timepieces are presented in Venezia leather settings of Nero Grigio and tobacco bis colours. The Berluti waxed and brushed objects are an invitation to a ritual, an observance of brilliance.
