Naomi Campbell proved that true style knows no bounds and that CHANEL pieces are destined to remain eternally chic.
As the 2024 Cannes Film Festival rolls out its iconic red carpet, celebrities from around the globe flock to the French Riviera, dressed to impress in their finest couture. Every year, the allure of Cannes lies not only in its celebration of cinema, but also in its reputation as a premier fashion showcase.
For celebrities, the red carpet at Cannes represents an unparalleled opportunity to make a statement, to captivate audiences with their sartorial choices, and to cement their status as style icons.
This year, supermodel Naomi Campbell stole the spotlight among the star-studded attendees, re-wearing a sequin CHANEL dress.
Styled by Law Roach, who also wore archival CHANEL, Naomi first debuted the dress in 1996, as the dress is part of the CHANEL Haute Couture Fall/Winter 1996-1997 collection. The black sequin dress featured pearl straps and slits on the floor-length skirt that exposed her long legs. She also shared photos on her Instagram account when she wore the dress 28 years ago.
The dress is undeniably one of Karl Lagerfeld’s masterpieces, possessing a timeless allure that transcends trends and decades. Despite making its debut over two decades ago, the CHANEL dress remains as stunning and relevant today as it was when it first graced the catwalk.
